Body hair shaving, pls HELP!?

I’m planning on buying a WAHL cordless head trimmer/shaver really soon but I want to use it to shave & trim some hair on my body too. I know I should just buy a body shaver as well but I cant at the moment, so that’s why I want to use this shaver for the body too. I’ve heard lots of people have done it, but does it damage the shaver? And does it trim and shave the body hair well?
