King of the Hill why is Hank Hill always complaining and mean to Luanne about everything?

Hank Hill sells propane and propane accessories he believes that selling propane through honesty and hard work is what life is all about. a family man with a nice wife Peggy who’s a substitute teacher and a son Bobby, however Peggy’s neice comes to stay with them and Hank is always complaining about her like her laundry mixing in with his, her using his shavers to shave her legs, and barging in also remember the episode when luanne comes home from work and has to cook bobby dinner and something about a shower she gets yelled at because of ladybird and she has a crew few. remember the episode Texas City Twister when luanne moves back to Shiney Pines Trailer Park and she sad when she sees her ”uncle hank” doesn’t want her to stay and starts crying he did not even feel bad when he seen her saying goodbye to ladybird. why is he always mean to her? a women hater that criticizes everything she does.

He doesn’t hate Luanne. He just wasn’t an emotional guy early in the series. He was uncomfortable about telling his son he loves him.

He later grows to care for Luanne, such as paying for her honeymoon, even letting her move back into his house after Luanne drops out of Community College. Heck, even in the first season, the episode where she breaks up with Buckley, he shows that deep down he cares for her and feels a little guilt about her leaving when she moved in with Boomhauer.
