Shaving facial hair for the first time?

i plan on using an electric shaver, do they ever catch your hair and pull on them, etc.. causing pain? Also, what parts is the trimmer for?

No, I have never had any problems with hair getting caught, they are designed to cut them very short, not pull them out. Also, once you start shaving more often. the hair becomes stiffer and cuts easier. The only issues I ever have is they irritate pimples when you shave around and over them.
You will find as you shave for the first few times that the freshly shaved skin feel extremely smooth and strange, sticky even, but that will go away as your hair starts growing back quicker.
