Electric vs. standard razor?

Okay, so Christmas is coming up and I was thinking about getting my grandfather an electric shaver. I, being a female, know nothing about electric razors. Here is the thing, my grandfather has lost 97% of his vision, so basically he is blind. How difficult is it to get used to using an electric shaver? How are the shaves different? He uses a standard razor w/shaving creme now, but I figured if an electric one could make it easier for him than I would get him one. What are the pros and cons of electric shavers? Do they pull the hair out? Also, what is the best kind to use? Thanks so much, I have no idea when it comes to this guy stuff.

Electric razors do not pull the hair out. They shave it off quite nicely. I mostly use an electric razor but will sometimes us a blade razor. My eyes are no longer the best but I’m not anywhere close to blind. I need glasses to read is all. When I shave with my electric I use one hand to manipulate the razor and the other to feel my face and see what still needs shaving. I think an electric razor would work well for your grandfather but he may have other ideas. He may simply be used to what he is using now and not want to change. If you want to get him an electric shaver get a decent one. The cheap ones are very noisy. I have a Braun and it has run for years with only the occasional replacement of the screen and blade.
