Blade Shaver Reviews
Please help me with this rest of this Physics review question.?
In an electric shaver, the blade moves back and forth over a distance of 1.6 mm. The motion is simple harmonic, with frequency 120 Hz.
Find the amplitude ( mm).
I already found this answer and it is 0.8 mm.
Find the maximum blade speed.
Find the maximum blade acceleration.
Since the frequency is 120 Hz, the angular frequency (in radians / sec) would be 2 pi times 120, so the angular frequency is 240 pi.
Maximum speed in simple harmonic motion is equal to the amplitude times the angular frequency. So .8 mm x 240 pi = 603 mm/s.
Maximum acceleration in simple harmonic motion is amplitude times angular velocity squared. So .8 mm x (240 pi) ^2 = 455000 mm/s^2
